Terms of use

The short version: be kind, this is not medical care, and look after each other.

Last updated 14 August 2026

This is peer support, not treatment

YoureNotAlone is a place for people to support each other through the ordinary weight of daily life. It is not a healthcare service. Nobody here is acting as your doctor, therapist, or counsellor, and nothing shared on this platform is medical advice.

If you are experiencing moderate or severe mental health difficulties, if what you are going through is affecting your ability to get through an ordinary day, or if things are getting worse, please speak to a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or one of the crisis lines shown throughout this site.

Who can use this

You need to be 16 or older. One account per person. Do not create an account to impersonate someone else.

How to behave here

People arrive here at difficult moments. That shapes the rules.

  • Be kind, and assume good faith. Nobody owes you their story.
  • Do not give medical advice, diagnose anyone, or tell someone to start, stop or change a medication.
  • Do not share methods of self-harm or suicide, or describe them in detail. If someone appears to be in danger, point them to the crisis resources and report the post rather than handling it alone.
  • Do not share anyone's identifying information, including your own contact details. Anonymity protects everyone here, including you.
  • No harassment, hate, or targeting anyone for who they are. No advertising, recruitment, or promoting products and services.
  • Do not copy someone's post or message out of this platform and share it elsewhere.

Moderation

Content can be reported by any member. Reports are reviewed, and content or accounts that put people at risk can be removed without notice. Investigating a report may require administrators to look at an account's details and content, as set out in our privacy policy.

Your content

What you write stays yours. By posting, you give us permission to display it on the platform so other members can see and respond to it. You can delete your content, or your whole account, at any time.

What we can and cannot promise

This is an early-stage project offered free of charge and as-is. We cannot guarantee that it will always be available, that responses will arrive, that the support you receive will be helpful, or that other members will follow these rules.

We take the crisis resources seriously and try hard to keep them accurate, but telephone numbers and services change. Always confirm with the provider, and in an emergency use your local emergency number.

We are not liable for what happens as a result of using this platform or of anything another member says.

Ending access

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules or endangers other members.

Changes

These terms will change as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced on the site.

Contact

Questions, complaints and anything you think is wrong here: hello@yourenotalone.app, or the contact form. It is not monitored around the clock and is not a route to help in an emergency — use your local emergency number or a crisis helpline for that.

Questions or something that looks wrong? This is an early-stage project and feedback genuinely changes it.
